Turkey is a pretty interesting place. The food is great. Istanbul seems truly to be a blending of Europe and Asia, old and new, Islam and secularism. One of the coolest things that I saw was the Bascilica Cistern. As engineer, I find it intriguing when something lasts for 1500 years. Apparently this was discovered when some archaeologist investigated reports of people with wells in their basements where they could get fresh water and even catch fish!Of course my daughter is confused by the fact that turkey is a food as well as a country, but deep down who isn’t a little puzzled? Which segues into Thanksgiving; so how do atheists celebrate Thanksgiving? It seems to me that you can be happy about having food, clothing, shelter, family, freedom, etc. But to be thankful you have to have a target of your thanks. I guess you could thank yourself, but that seems to violate the principle of the holiday. |

- Pretty fast (10 updates/second)
- Extremely responsive (think machine control)
- Customizable for each installation
